We decided to stay close and so we drove out to Lake Dixon. We got there and picked the perfect spot and pitched our tent right before it got dark, and I mean dark! We came to find out that Lake Dixon is not allowing camp fires because it is pretty dry out there. So, it was kind of sad camping with out a camp fire, and not to mention way dark too.
John and I slept horrable, Isaac slept ok, and Olive slept like a champ. In the morning we got to take in an incredable view of escondido. That was pretty cool. At night it was cool too because you could see all the city lights.
Here is John in the dark with our one lantern.
Here is the view of Escondido,
We went fishing the next morning and that was a lot of fun. Isaac said he caught 11 fish. This was both Isaac and John's first time fishing and I think they both enjoyed it.Here are the boys practicing their casting,

Grandpa teaching Isaac all about putting a worm on a hook,

Isaac with a fish! Yes, that tiny thing is a fish.

The men fishing away on the dock,

On our way home we stopped by my sisters to meet our new cousin James who was home finnally from the hospital. We so excited to finnally meet him.
Oh, and by the way we were suppose to stay at Lake Dixon two nights but we packed up and moved it to the beach in Carlsbad and camped there the second night so we could have a campfire for goodness sakes! It was a lot of fun.
