Our first Christmas

I am up late, well I guess up early, wrapping a few last gifts in front of my sparkling Christmas tree and I just got to thinking about my family's first Christmas. It has been my favorite Christmas yet and one I am sure I will never forget. I think what made it so grate was waking up all together in the same bed, and in the same room, and with our tree and presents and decorations and everything right there too. Everything we could every need to celebrate Christmas was right there when we opened our eyes and I can't think of anything more perfect then that. It was the best Christmas ever and I am sure this year will be a great one too.

Seven days till Christmas!

holy cow, I can not believe Christmas is just around the corner! I wish it could last just a little longer.

I also can not believe how fast our weekend went by. I spent all day yesterday cleaning the house. I thought that it would only take a few hours then I could work on all this other stuff. Well, it took me like all day. Maybe my little place is just a little too big.

I did get to work on few things last night. Carla and Sadie came over and strung pop corn for me and I addressed my Christmas cards and finally started working on my stocking that I started THREE years ago! I have it all cut out but I just can't get myself to sew it together. I think I don't like the design I chose. I have it a Christmas tree right now but I was thinking about changing it to a manger or maybe Mrs. Clause. In any case when I told john I wanted to change it he told me, "No! You just have to finish it because I need it.". Well, I think I am going to change it anyway but I did get started on the cuff. I decided to put my name in sequins and beads. I embroidered Isaac's and John's but I am a girl and i need some sparkle! So, here is what I got so far and I will definitely post it when it is complete! Seven days to go.....

Sadie + Santa = a day of fun

Early yesterday morning Isaac and I rushed out of the house and down to the YMCA to see Sadie in a little dance recital. She was so cute. She kept bending to the side to make sure Isaac was watching her. She is the one just to the right of the teacher

Look how cute:

After the recital we all went to our annual Voge family Christmas party. My cousin Raymond dressed up like Santa and Isaac got to see great grandma and great grandpa. It was a good day!

Santa on a pogo-stick

So, today was big Santa day at the library. Luckily mommy was prepared (for once) and we got there nice and early, but of course not until Isaac got dressed in his "elf" hat, Christmas sweater, and of course snow boots which he is now saying, "well, I fink they're cowboy boots mom." We did forget his snow mittens though. Anyway, we got there early and waited in line, getting #11, nice! Next, into a big room full of coloring and story time, this is were I get to tell you what a good kid I have, I was so shocked at how good my son was. He picked out a little piece of carpet to sit on and sat there the whole time during story time talking very little and while having one very badly behaved kid continuously yanking his hat off his head, another funny little girl unknowingly pushing him off his little piece of carpet, and the crazy noise of like 20+ kids . He was so good! He just made a mad face when the boy would take his hat and then he would put it back on and do it all over again. When it came to the little girl he just kept trying to reclaim his little piece of carpet whenever she inched into someone else's square. He was like one of three kids that were actually sitting and listening to the stories. Lets just say I was so proud and I wanted to tell everyone, "hey, that one's mine." and that doesn't happen as often as I would like. I usually just pretend I'm the nanny.

No, just kidding :)

So, we got to see Santa and when asked what he wanted he replied, "A pogo-stick, but, there kinda tricky I fink." which in turn Santa replied, "Well if anything were to make you laugh it would be seeing Santa on a pogo-stick."

p.s. lesson learned today: Don't take your 3 year old son Christmas shopping with you because he will tell everyone what you got them.

I am ready to post, and I'm postin' it here!

So, I think that I am ready to finally commit to my blog. An early new years resolution I think: to blog and then blog some more.

So, my first blog post is of Isaac, of course! I was tring to get a nice christmas picture of him in his flashy christmas suit and this is some of what he gave me.

He is such a ham!

Welcome

I have been planning to do this for a long time but just never got around to it until now. I just wanted a little space to post some action from the Arana house to keep all friends and family in touch. So please, enjoy the ride because I sure as Heck am!
